Hostel care in Abel Tasman Village Minimize

Abel Tasman Village has 60 hostel units. These units vary in size from 28 to 41 square meters and contain a bed-sitter, spacious bathroom and kitchenette. Some units have a separate bedroom, other units have a connecting door facilitating occupancy by a couple.

The amount for accommodation bonds required for these units varies from time to time and details may be obtain from the office (Telephone 02 9645 3388). An amount set by the Government is retained annually up to a maximum of 5 years. For persons who cannot afford the full bond, concessional or assistant residency may be made available. Financial advice is available or referals can be made to external advisors.

For hostel residents the following services are included: cleaning, laundry, all meals, personal care, activities and respite care.

Experienced staff are on call 24 hours per day and to assist with personal care needs.

The meals are prepared in our own kitchen and provide for residents with specific dietary needs. Occasionally traditional Dutch meals or dishes are served.

The ongoing fee is currently approximately 85% of the Age Pension and is subject to Government regulations.

Prospective residents have to be assessed by an "Aged Care Assessment Team"  (ACAT), available at your local hospital, before being eligible for hostel care.

To secure a place, prospective resident's with ACAT approval may put their name on the waiting list or if available, use our respite service.
